Go to Bed on Time Challenge! Boy! This one has been a KILLER! Pardon the Caps lock! I missed out last night without even trying! Reed, who is hanging out here a few days, hinted to me but I didn't even get it. It wasn't till David told me that it was after 10:35 that it dawned on me! Yikes! Why doesn't he go to bed on time on Sundays????? He does every other night! So Here are the Rules: First, set a bedtime. You can stay up reading for awhile but the challenge is you have to be IN bed with your teeth brushed and all that routine before the time you say for it to count. One night a week is a fudge night - you get an hour longer or so. Getting out of bed for children does not count against you as long as You weren't the reason they woke up OR you try to go to bed as soon as you can and not STAY up. Whoever has the most "In Bed on Time" by April 1st wins. Clarifications: In order for you to count it, you can not have the TV on!!!!!!!!! Talking in bed is okay - hopefully not more than an hour but that's a good thing so we don't want it to stop. Talking on the phone in bed - not! Reading is okay for a short time after your bedtime you have set - not longer than 1 hour. You are on the honor system with this though. Reading some books will wake you up. clause: Those of you that have terrible sleep habits and are jumping from 2:00 in the morning to 11:00 at night as a bedtime, this clause is for you! You can have 3 times to adjust your week bedtime - that means for one week you can have 1:00 as your in bed time. The next week you can up it to 12:00. Just remember you get only 3 different times to do this so make it work. The only way you will switch your inner clock is to get up in the morning. Other pointers: Do something active every day so your body will know it needs more sleep!!!! Fight naps. Plan ahead by having a pre-go to bed time. Have a routine that tells your body it's time to get starting thinking about sleep. Saboteurs - Beware!!!! That includes noisy night eaters. We need to help each other out. Also if you have to get up to check on children whether they are tiny or grown, or the smoke alarm or some other emergency, it won't count against you as long as you don't stay up. Okay? There will be a prize for the one with the most nights to bed on time and also the most improved!!!!! Love to all of you! Not waiting up to see who's the last one standing! Happy Dreams!!!

Double or Nothing Winners!

Heh! I thought it was about time that I announce the Winners!!!!

Great big drum roll please!!!!!!!! ......... "Tim with his sidekick Kat" for a perfect score!
We are so proud of you!    and no less amazing - Becky who missed only one. She finished the Book of Mormon (no misses on that goal) and her piano playing skills have improved way beyond even my expectations. She has proven that 15 minutes of practice a day can work Miracles! Before she could barely play one handed but now tackles songs like "The Olive Tree" and "The Entertainer" or songs from "Les Miserable". What next? Her old piano teacher moved back . . . but she just started 6:00 am Volleyball practices . . . so when that's over!

I must say that this was a great challenge for me! I didn't plan to miss a few times but Christmas sort of did a number on my room . . . like it always does. Still, I felt great success and know that if I set my mind to do something nearly impossible, I can do it!!!! I AM still exercising most every day . . . so I didn't lose that habit. I just feel lousy when I miss a day. Our bedroom - well it needs a bit more tweaking! There is still a pile on the floor near my dresser. Everyone seems to contribute with that issue BUT I am not giving up! At least I did keep the habit of clearing off the bed before David gets there. Rather nice - every time I do, I think about him and how he did it so patiently for me all these years - pillows and all. Now I can show him that he really does matter to me.

Just a P.S. I tackled my file cabinets and desk area this last week! What a huge project! I realized that it will be on going for quite some time but at least I have more drawers and better organized. My favorite part is my birthday cards are now handy. LOL

Let us know what you think about this challenge!!!! How did you do? More on our next challenge "Get to Bed On Time" - which already started. Just so all you couch potatoes know, the next major Atwood Family Double or Nothing Challenge will start April 1st (that's NO Joke!) and Tim's in charge of the rules etc. Here's hoping it has something to do with the fluff around our middles. Or a Tator revolt!!!!!!

Love to you all! You are ALL WINNERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
